Whiteboard Poetry: #1

“Flibbertigibbet”

you’re at your lowest, once again
as always watching your sun set on another day
and you’re wondering why the dark seems to hate you
leaves you in filtered moonlight, calling your name
regretting your past lives, what a shame to be reborn again
but the sunset looks so pretty, destruction at her finest
just like you, and here the thought comes again
ah goodness, eff it, flibbertigibbet
you’ve got my heart, soul, and mind,
resting in the palm of your hand
the way the sun sets in the palm of the sky
high and blue, dry and dew, lost but renewed
loved, protected, and cherished at her lowest,
can you promise me the same?

A/N: I spent the last few months writing short poems on random whiteboards around my campus, using a single word provided by a stranger as inspiration. Join me as I post the following installments of my whiteboard poetry ❤
