i.
drown me in the brown
of your irises and eyes
love is dirt is growth

ii.
drown me in the green of the gorgeous earth
because in my dreams, i’m an astronaut
floating in outer space, the earth is my sunrise
and the moon surrounds me with her grace
and i live among the stars and rocks
and you don’t know the lives i lead

iii.
drown me in the blue of the ocean
because in my dreams, i’m a thousand
different things, surfing the waves and
kayaking and drowning in salty seawater
struggling to stay ahead in my head

iv.
drown me in the brown of coffee waves
swirls of cream and spirilling cocoa
because in this life i’m a barista
and i pour you the perfect cup, offer you
my free advice. inhale the coffee
and i know my mood and energy stay afloat

v.
drown me in the lilac of the lavender fields
i’m farming away my troubles on lucious land
because in my dreams, i own some cattle
and no one drives down this deserted path
country life maybe isn’t so bad

I swear by false friends
and flowers that grow
under trees hiding the sun
from their short-lived show.

I swear by the waves that
eat at the shore
sandcastled dreams that
disappear under wavy lines.

I swear that life
is more than mistakes
for forgiveness exists
and in the end

all the way through
to the edge of the sky

If I fall in love with you, run.
Don’t encourage me; I’ll dream away my life
and you’ll still be there wasting away.

If you fall in love with me, don’t.
I’ll keep you in the dark, locked up
with my struggles, unable to escape.

If I fall in love with you, run.
I’ll think that maybe it was meant to be.
I’ll cling to you and won’t let you go.

If you fall in love with me, don’t.
I’ll keep you trapped in my life.
I’ll cry and laugh and spend my eternity with you.

If I fall in love with you, run.
I’ll want to compliment you till your ears fall off;
Your eyes, your hair, your grace and debonair.

If you fall in love with me, don’t.
You’ll fall to your doom because
I won’t be what you’re looking for,
but maybe I’ll be what you need.

If I fall in love with you, run.
You better run fast and far because
I might hunt you down and keep you till there’s nothing left.

If you fall in love with me, don’t.
I think I’d step away and take a deep breath;
I’m toxic and dangerous, not suited for your mentality.

Simply put, you better get away.
I’m not here to stay,
Only here to say,
If you fall in love with me, don’t.

No matter what I say or do,
Always remember that I’ll come running back to you.

Always remember…

Keep in your heart
That I’ll love you.
Forever and always –
A never ending chase…

And we’ll be chasing clouds
And counting stars
And dancing barefoot in the grass
And feeling the breeze beneath our scars
And the sand will slip through our hands
And know that I’ll stay by your side
